What is a LaBlast “Elite” Instructor?

1.

Video Submission

A LaBlast Elite Instructor has submitted an hour-long class in video form to be critiqued by one of our top performing LaBlast Educational Specialists.

2.

Member of LIF

An active LIF (LaBlast Instructor Foundation) membership is required. Keeping current with the latest patterns and dance variations is key to advancing as a LaBlast Elite Instructor.

3.

AAAI, ACE, AEA, AFAA, SCW, YMCA, or Equivalent Certification Preferred

Recognizing the fitness aspect as much as the ballroom dance aspect of LaBlast Fitness is a crucial part of being an instructor. These fitness educators dive deeper into the fitness elements that are needed in a group fitness class.  Other primary group fitness certifications to be reviewed as needed.

4.

Teach at least two classes per week.

LaBlast Elite Instructors teach a minimum of two LaBlast classes per week, however we recommend teaching 3. You have to teach to be considered an active instructor. It is crucial to staying fresh and current on your dances. The more you teach, the more confident in teaching you are!

Setting you Apart

LaBlast Elite Instructor status is designed to distinguish the good from the truly fabulous. After completing the 8-hour LaBlast Fitness Certification, it’s up to each instructor to deliver the highest-quality LaBlast classes possible.

The Elite program is an opportunity for instructors to elevate their teaching, refine their skills, and shine with personalized support from our LaBlast Educational Specialists. To participate, you must be a current LIF Monthly subscriber, hold a primary group fitness certification (ACE, AFAA, or equivalent), and actively teach at least two classes per week.

The Process

1.

Submit an hour long class via YouTube or Vimeo link and a screenshot of your playlists.

Use at least 2 songs with weights, a minimum of 4 different dances, and make sure the class includes a warm-up and cool down.

2.

Evaluation Phone Call

A LaBlast Educational Specialist will schedule a phone call to review your classes with you.

3.

Implement Changes

Implement the suggested changes and send a follow-up video.

4.

Further Suggestions or Certificate of Completion

After the LaBlast Educational Specialist has reviewed the follow-up video, you will receive further critiques or a certificate of completion.

5.

Repeat until Complete

If further critiquing is needed, steps 2 & 3 can be repeated.
